Coach Dorival Júnior will make his first call-up to the Brazilian national team this Friday (1), at 1pm. The coach will announce the names of the players who will play for Brazil in the friendlies against England and Spain. The first match will be on March 23 at Wembley in London, while the second will be at the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid on March 26.

Where to watch

“CBF TV” will broadcast the call-up on YouTube.

Who should accompany the coach during the call-up is Rodrigo Caetano, CBF’s new director of soccer.

Recently, Dorival Júnior spoke about the call-up and also confirmed that he has a shortlist of around 55 players.

“At first, there was an adaptation to a type of work that is a little different from what you do at a club. At a club, you play and go out on the pitch the next day to start making corrections. At the CBF, the work is much more about observations, organization, direction,” said the coach to CBF TV.

“We have a list of 50, 55 names of possible call-ups, all of these players are being observed, both in the championships underway in Brazil and in important matches abroad,” he added.

The expectation of fans is that the official list will include more players who play in Brazilian soccer, compared to previous call-ups. In any case, Dorival makes it clear that the idea is to make a good impression in these first games.

“Perhaps our biggest challenge here is to create a readaptation or adaptation, and it needs to be quick so that we find what we envision: the best possible team for these two initial friendlies (against England and Spain). So we’re going to try to do our best and make a good impression on our fans right from the start,” he explained.
