The Land Rover is a brand that isn’t very present in our market in terms of headlines, but when it does appear, it doesn’t disappoint. The British manufacturer has started production of the facelift of the Evoque and Discovery at its plant in Itatiaia, located in Rio de Janeiro, almost on the border with the state of São Paulo. The new models were presented on the international market in June 2023 and will be available from R$ 434,990 for the Discovery flex and R$ 464,380 for the diesel model, and R$ 471,950 for the Evoque, which has only one version.

The changes to the exterior of the Evoque are discreet, with the 20-inch wheels receiving a new finish and design. The front grille is no longer hexagonal, changing to new rectilinear elements, in addition to the lanterns equipped with LED blocks for the intelligent lighting system. On the other hand, the Discovery features new wheels (20″, 21″ or 22″) finished in black, a grille of the same shape but in gloss black, a new lower front grille and elements in the headlights.

Interiorly, both models are similar, but it is precisely in the cabin where the biggest changes have taken place. The physical buttons on the dashboards have been eliminated, following the trend of Chinese automakers, and all the functionalities have been integrated (air conditioning too) into the 11.4-inch curved screen with the latest Pivi Pro system, which includes Amazon Alexa and wireless integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (previously it was wired).

With the adoption of a more minimalist design and the reduction of physical elements, Land Rover has been able to expand the cup holders, include an induction cell phone charger and two USB-C inputs, as well as providing more space in the center console. In addition, a new, wider gearshift knob has been fitted, and the instrument panel has gone back to being 100% digital.

As for the motorization, both models retain their options. The Discovery Sport is offered with a flex or diesel engine, along with a light-hybrid combination. The 2.0 Si4 flex engine delivers 249 hp of power and 37.2 kgfm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds. The configuration with the 2.0 turbodiesel engine combined with a semi-hybrid (MHEV) system offers 204 cv of power and 43.8 kgfm of torque. Both versions have a nine-speed automatic gearbox.

For its part, the Range Rover Evoque is equipped with the 2.0 Si4 engine, which delivers 250 hp of power and 36.3 kgfm of torque. With all-wheel drive, the model reaches a speed of 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds, with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
