In January, Stellantis’ new investment was announced, as the largest ever, according to the company’s president in South America, Emanuele Cappellano. And now, this investment has become more than real – it will be R$ 30 billion for the South America region from 2025 to 2030, making it the largest investment in the history of the Brazilian and South American automotive industry. There will be 40 new vehicles, four global platforms and the development of Bio-Hybrid technology.
When we mention Stellantis in Brazil, we are talking about brands such as Fiat (Abarth), Ram, Jeep, Citröen and Peugeot. The company points out that the money will be directed mainly towards the production of Bio-Hybrid systems, which combine electrification with flex engines powered by biofuels (ethanol). This system encompasses light-hybrid, conventional hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines.
“This announcement solidifies our confidence and commitment to the future of the South American automotive industry and is a response to the favorable business environment we find here,” said Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares.
In the second half of this year, a hybrid vehicle will be launched in dealerships. Although not yet confirmed, models such as Jeep Compass, Renegade, Commander or even Fiat Toro are possibilities.

Four global platforms will be implemented, associated with Bio-Hybrid technologies, more than 40 models, as well as eight new powertrains and electrification applications”, said Emanuele Cappellano, COO of Stellantis for South America.
The group aims to zero carbon emissions by 2038, with a 50% reduction by 2030. The name of the strategic plan is Dare Forward 2030
The Stellantis Automotive Hub in Betim, Brazil, is the company’s global center for the development of Bio-Hybrid technology. Bio-Hybrid technology is driven by three hybrid powertrains that will be progressively produced and introduced to the market. These new technologies include Bio-Hybrid; Bio-Hybrid e-DCT with electrified dual-clutch transmissions; Bio-Hybrid Plug-In; and BEV (100% electric).
