On Thursday (7), Fortaleza faced Botafogo-PB in a match valid for the 5th round of the group stage of the Copa do Nordeste. The match, which marked Leão’s return to the championship after the attacks suffered by the delegation in Recife, ended in a 1-1 draw. With an assist from Pedro Rocha, Yago Pikachu scored for Leão do Pici, secured a point in the fight for the next phase of the competition and is among the highlights of the game’s performances.
Having qualified for the second phase of the Copa do Brasil, the Tricolor de Aço arrived confident and in search of leadership in their group. On the other side, Belo had their only fans and the debut of coach Moacir Júnior. The match was balanced and the result caused changes in the table. Fortaleza, who now have 8 points, remain in second place in Group B, while Botafogo-PB, who were in G-4 before the match, end the round in fifth place in Group A. HIGHLIGHTS
Yago Pikachu – Among the performances, Pikachu stood out by scoring the Leão’s only goal of the match. In a counter-attack, after Botafogo-PB had opened the scoring, Pedro Rocha laid it off to Pikachu, who shot from the edge of the penalty area to tie the game for Fortaleza. As well as netting the equalizer, Pikachu had other chances to score for the Tricolor de Aço.
Pedro Rocha – Despite his yellow card, Pedro Rocha is among the highlights of Leão’s performances. The striker assisted Yago Pikachu’s equalizer and came close to scoring Fortaleza’s second.
