Now it’s official. On Thursday night (7), Internacional announced the signing of midfielder Thiago Maia on loan from Flamengo until December this year.
The Rio de Janeiro club announced the deal with the player from Rio Grande do Sul after reaching an agreement with Lille, from France, which held 50% of the player’s economic rights.
Thiago Maia said goodbye to Rubro-Negro on his social networks, posting images of the Libertadores and Copa do Brasil triumphs, both in 2022, with the caption: “Quem viu, viu”.
Revealed at Santos and with spells at Lille and Flamengo, the 26-year-old lost ground under Tite and has only played once this season, against Portuguesa-RJ, in January, in the Campeonato Carioca.

With the urgency of completing the deal on the last day of the window, Internacional will have a contractual obligation to make the purchase later. Flamengo will receive a sum of 2.85 million euros (equivalent to R$15.4 million) and will keep 25% of the economic rights. Lille will receive 1.15 million euros (around R$6.2 million) and will keep the red-blacks’ percentage.
Also on the last day of the transfer window, Colorado announced another reinforcement: Alexandro Bernabei, an Argentinian left-back who was playing for Celtic in Scotland. The 23-year-old arrives to fight for position with Renê. In the last game, against Juventude, defender Robert Renan played as a makeshift defender.
In this way, Internacional have signed nine players this season. Before him, Fernando, Bruno Gomes, Wesley, Borré, Hyoran, Ivan, Alario and Robert Renan arrived.
