According to the Portuguese newspaper A Bola, Galeno will wait for the call-up from coach Roberto MartÃnez to assess and decide which team he will play for.
Galeno’s situation could be similar to that of midfielder Matheus Nunes, currently a Manchester City player. In August 2021, the player was called up by Tite for the Brazilian national team, but turned it down and opted to play for Portugal.
This season, his third for Porto, Galeno has played 36 games so far, starting 29. The striker has scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists.
