Donald Trump became the first former president in the history of the States United to face criminal justice, this Monday (15), on the 1st day of the trial of the case involving payments to a former actress. The Republican, however, was not the only one to draw attention in the Manhattan Supreme Court in New York.

In the historic and unprecedented trial, who also gained the spotlight of the U.S. and international press was Margo Martin, Trump’s deputy communications director. By entering the jury alongside the former president, the 28-year-old sparked the interest of the media and viewers for different reasons.

In addition to her beauty and elegance, Margo Martin drew attention for her physical resemblance to Melania Trump, 53, the former president’s current wife. A Fox News journalist named John Roberts even mistook the deputy communications director for the former first lady.

Who is Margo Martin?

Born in Oklahoma, Margo Martin is one of the few holdovers of Trump’s team from the time the Republican was president (2016-2020). Prior to assuming her current role, she was deputy communications director for Save America PAC, Trump’s political action committee .

As such, Margo Martin was mainly used to send emails and WhatsApp messages to supporters, organizing Trump’s ongoing rallies across the country.

Promoted, Margo Martin also served as Trump’s press secretary, answering questions from the press and arranging interviews.

On social media, Martin is anything but discreet and often shows off lavish event records with friends and family. A traveler, the Trump staffer recently showed photos of her visits to Scotland, Ireland and India.

Passionate about sports, the deputy director is also present at American football, golf, tennis, among other sports. As it could not be otherwise, Martin’s social networks are also full of photos next to Trump.

Trump’s trial

The former president is answering questions about the $130,000 payment to former star Stormy Daniels to allegedly buy her silence about an extramarital affair.

The trial is expected to last up to two weeks. For the case, the Supreme Court assigned 12 New York residents to form the jury.

In addition to this case, Trump will also be tried for the attempted coup d’état in the 2020 election, for electoral interference in the vote count in Georgia and for the removal and handling of classified documents after leaving the White House.

The expectation, however, is that the other trials will take place only after the November election. Seeking to return to the White House, the former president has a technical tie with Joe Biden, the current president, according to the latest poll by The New York Times.
