Tesla has called for recall of all 3,878 Cybertrucks sold so far. The call, announced by Elon Musk’s company Last Friday (19), it is due to a defect that can cause the pedal of the famous model to be at risk of getting stuck.
According to NHTSA, the recall includes the 2024 model year units manufactured between November 13, 2023 and April 4, 2024. It is estimated that the problem is present in 100% of vehicles assembled during this period.

The problem in the vehicle comes as a heavy blow to Musk, who sees the Cybertruck and Tesla become the butt of jokes. In an article published in Mashable, journalist Chris Taylor mocks the situation and criticizes the vehicle with a futuristic design.
“It’s not the workers’ fault that someone told them to put a completely unnecessary sturdy-looking pad on the throttle. Workers should also not be held responsible for rust marks that appear on a stainless steel truck, or for a trunk that can snag fingers, or for a warning not to wash it in direct sunlight, or for a flashing red “stop” warning appearing on the screen minutes after at least one customer has started driving. ironized the journalist who also categorized the Cybertruck as a “joke on wheels”.
On social media, netizens also spared no comments on X, formerly Twitter, making fun of the situation.
“The cybertruck’s septic tank fell down, got stuck in the wheel, made me turn around and spread/willy wonka funko pops all over the highway killing me,” one user said.

“Guys, was my Cybertruck impacted by the recall?” asked another netizen comparing the car to a bed.
Initially, Musk estimated that the Cybertruck would sell around 250,000 units per year, but to date it has not reached 4,000 sales. Thus, netizens also joked and cited the sales failure of the DeLorean, which later became successful because of the movie ‘Back to the Future’.
“The cyber truck recall caused them to finally reveal that the sales numbers are so good that it sold half the value of the DeLorean (laughs),” he wrote.
