São Paulo announced on Saturday (20) the hiring of Argentine Luis Zubeldía as the team’s new coach. At the age of 43, the commander was chosen to replace the departure of Thiago Carpini, who was fired after just over three months in charge of the Tricolor.

While waiting for the arrival of the Argentine coach, São Paulo will be led by interim coach Milton Cruz in the match against Atlético-GO, this Sunday (21), for the third round of the Brasileirão. The game takes place at the Antônio Accioly stadium, in Goiânia, at 6:30 pm.
Luis Zubeldía was free on the market after winning the Sudamericana in 2023 with LDU (EQU). The coach started his career in 2008 at Lanús, where he became the youngest coach to win the Argentine Championship. Zubeldía has also played for clubs such as Racing, Santos Laguna, Independiente Medellín and Alavés.
