A Brazilian woman broke the record for the most watched video on the trend #AsokaMakeup on TikTok, with nearly 320 million views. Camila Pudim is the name behind the viral content, which consists of doing a typical Indian makeup, while dancing to an Indian song .

To Quem magazine, the influencer said that it took 14 hours to produce the 1-minute video. In the images, she makes about 30 transitions, which include makeup, contact lens, and costume changes. At the end of the video, Camila appears all dressed up, with typical Indian clothes and accessories.

The content, which quickly spread across the video platform, was the second published by Camila Pudim performing the trend. Shortly before, she had already made a similar video, which in turn got 158 million views.

The #AsokaMakeup trend is inspired by the Indian film “Asoka”, released in 2001. The trend has become a hit with content creators around the world. The song used as the soundtrack for the video, “San Sanana” by singer Akla Yagnik, is part of the Bollywood film, the “Hollywood” of India.

After

the success of #AsokaMakeup, celebrities also jumped into the fun. One of them was the dancer Brunna Gonçalves, Ludmilla’s wife.

Brunna appeared on social media “lip-syncing” and dancing to the Indian song and, in the end, of course, she appeared dressed in typical costumes and accessories of the country, as the trend dictates.

Through the Stories, the dancer revealed that she did the makeup she used in the video herself. According to Brunna, the production took 16 hours to be ready – 12 of them just in recording.

On the web, the public has been campaigning for actress Juliana Paes, who played Maya in “Caminho das Índias” (2009), to join the fun. After the requests, Juliana said through her Stories that she has already recorded a video.

The actress commented that because she is with the children at home, with no one to help her with the lights and without a neutral background, the result could not be wonderful, but she points out that she made the content with great care.

To date, however, Maya’s interpreter has not yet published the material.
