Networks A baby less than two months old was rescued amidst the floods that collapsed more than 380 municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul. The newborn and his family are safe thanks to the help of locals who picked them up by boat.
João Lucas Carvalho was the one who rescued the baby. He, who is a motorcycle lover and lives his life competing in rallies, decided to help people who were stranded due to the rains in the state.
“When I picked it up, I thought it was such a small toy,” João Lucas said of rescuing the newborn. “It was one of the rescues that I was most apprehensive about, having a life in hand, with less than 60 days…,” he added on social media.
According to Carvalho, the baby and his family were taken to a resident’s home because authorities were taking too long with transport.
