Cardiologist Leandro Medice died in the city of São Leopoldo (RS). The 41-year-old was found dead in a shelter, raising suspicions of sudden illness as the cause of death.

He had no history of serious illness, making the situation even more shocking to family, friends, and colleagues.

Leandro Medice was in the south of the country as a volunteer, dedicating his time and knowledge to help the victims of the recent rains that devastated the region.

Married to acupuncturist João Paulo Martins, Leandro Medice was known for his dedication to the profession and his diverse professional trajectory.

Before specializing in Cardiology, he worked with surgeries at a hair aesthetics company in Praia da Costa, in Vila Velha.

Leandro Medice’s trip to help the victims of the rains was organized by himself, together with doctor friends. The group left on a private jet, eager to contribute positively to the affected community. Leandro was attending to victims on Sunday but did not show up at the meeting point afterwards.

He worked in the areas of Physiotherapy, Dentistry and Medicine, with a specialization in Cardiology. In addition, Medice worked as an intensivist and dedicated part of his career to the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU). In recent years, she has specialized in hair aesthetics.
