A few days before facing Al-Hilal in what could be one of the most important games of the Saudi Championship, Cristiano Ronaldo was selected to take a ‘surprise’ anti-doping test at Al Nassr.
According to information from the Spanish newspaper “AS”, members of the Saudi League’s Anti-Doping Committee went to the Al Nassr Training Center on Tuesday (14) and selected some players, and Cristiano Ronaldo was among those chosen.
The anti-doping issue has been a recurring controversy in Saudi football, with some players suffering harsh punishments, as happened to Fahd Al-Mawlid, now an Al-Shabab athlete , who was caught with banned substances in the past.
In the current season, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 31 goals, an impressive mark, but which is not enough for Al Nassr to fight for the title. Today, the Portuguese team is in second place, with 12 points behind Al-Hilal, in first place.
The two teams will face each other on Friday (17), at 15 pm, in a match that can bring Al-Hilal even closer to winning the competition. Because of the importance of the match, the league is conducting anti-doping tests before the game.
