On Thursday afternoon (16), the Military Police found 4,860 crack rocks buried in an area of dunes near the Favela do Lixo, in Cabo Frio, in the Lakes Region of Rio de Janeiro.
The discovery was made after a tip indicated that criminals were using the place to store drugs.
The Special Tactical Actions Group (GAT) team was activated and carried out a sweep of the area, finding the material inside bags buried in the sand. The officers acted quickly, but the criminals managed to flee before the police arrived.
All the seized material was forwarded to the 126th Police Station of Cabo Frio for legal proceedings. The police action represents another important step in the fight against drug trafficking in the region.
