American actor Kevin Spacey, 64, has opened up about his financial situation. The performer said he has been going through a crisis since he paid millionaire sums to defend himself against the accusations of sexual abuse he received.
Spacey further stated that the house in which he lived, located in Baltimore, United States, It is being auctioned so that he can pay off some of the open debts. The actor detailed the situation in an interview with the British program “Piers Morgan Uncensored” last Tuesday (11).
“This week, the house where I was living in Baltimore is being foreclosed. My house is being auctioned off. So, I have to go back to Baltimore to put all my stuff in a warehouse,” he explained during an appearance on the television show.
Known for his performance in the drama series “House of Cards”, he doesn’t know where he will live when the property is purchased. “The answer to that question is: I don’t know where I’m going to live now. I’ve been in Baltimore since we started filming ‘House of Cards’ there.”
“There were a few times when I thought about filing [bankruptcy]. But I managed to avoid that. At least until now,” Kevin admitted. The Hollywood veteran attributes the financial problems to the costs he had to defend himself against accusations of sexual abuse.
In 2023, Spacey was acquitted of nine counts of men in a London court, England. The complainants alleged that the abuses took place between 2004 and 2013, when the accused worked as artistic director at the Old Vic theatre in London.
