archive The tattoo artist, known as ‘Devil’, now has an official identity card with the name of Diabão Faro do Prado. He is in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most implants in his head.
The achievement in court to make the nickname official happened in April 2024 and only now has he been able to update the RG. Before, his name was Michel Prado.
“I realized that I was no longer the same person, both inside and out. I feel fulfilled,” Diabão told g1.
He lives in Praia Grande, on the coast of São Paulo, and said he has had the nickname Diabão for many years, after he faced discrimination on the streets due to his tattoos and piercings.
“It was a very big accomplishment, because I don’t really see myself as Michel anymore, but totally like the Devil, who is also a highly Christian person,” Explained.
According to the tattoo artist, the next step is to update the passport with the new name.
A Christian faith
, he believes that the ‘Devil’ does not possess the popular image of horns and claws, but rather a ‘pretty’ look.
“People have this idea because they see my modification within the ‘claim’, which is something that attracts me. Some believe that I want to look like the ‘Devil’ or that I have a satanic religiosity, but it’s the opposite of that,” he said.
Diabão also says that today he feels complete after the updates in Justice.
“Michel was a person who abandoned his father in the hospital until he died, and then I learned that there is a pain greater than longing, which is remorse. The Devil, on the other hand, is the person who took care of a neighbor, a little lady who at first showed fear, but later became my ‘little voice’,” she told g1.
How to change the name?
Federal Law 14,382/22 simplified the process of changing the first name without requiring justification. Despite the reduced restrictions, this change is only allowed once, and reversal requires legal action.
To request the change, it is necessary to appear in person at a Civil Registry Office. The applicant must be over 18 years old, present personal documents (RG and CPF) and pay the corresponding fee.
