The Civil Police of São Paulo arrested, on Wednesday (19), Adriano Domingues da Costa, businessman who shot at a car during a traffic fight on the Castelo Branco Highway, in the city of Boituva.
In a note sent to the Portal iG, the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) reported that Adriano was detained at the moment he was going to surrender, already in the city of Aluminum. At the moment, the man is being taken to a police station in São Paulo.
“The Civil Police clarifies that the perpetrator of the crime was detained by the Military Police in Alumínio, this Wednesday (19), when he was on his way to the DIG of Itapetininga to surrender. The police authority has been notified and a team is taking the perpetrator to the headquarters of the police station to make his capture official,” said the SSP.

In an interview with UOL, the businessman’s defense stated that the case is not an attempted murder, as stated in the police record. “The glass was armored and those who are from the area know that we are facing an impossible crime for the homicidal purpose,” said Luiz Carlos Tucho de Souza e Castro.

Saturday (15), Adriano was recorded firing four shots with a firearm against a vehicle on the shoulder of the Castelo Branco Highway, in the interior of São Paulo, after a disagreement with the occupants – as the car was armored, no one was injured.
In the recording, the businessman asks the occupants of the vehicle to roll down the window of the car before shooting. The man is seen shooting at the tires and glass, while the victims call the police and record the scene.
According to the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), the weapon used by Adriano was handed over to the police on Monday (17). The suspect’s car and passport were seized over the weekend, when a temporary arrest warrant was issued by the courts.
The businessman’s defense also asked that the temporary arrest decree against him be annulled, but the court upheld the order for imprisonment.
