businesswoman died after a coconut tree hit her in the head in the city of Porto de Pedras, in the interior of Alagoas. Lívia Loise Moura Barbosa, 35, was confirmed dead on Wednesday (19).
The accident happened on Tuesday (18). Livia was driving along the Ecological Route when she came across a straw in the middle of the road and got out of the car to remove it. It was at that moment that the coconut tree fell.
The businesswoman’s 5-year-old daughter was in the car and was not injured. The woman was rescued by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) and sent to the Northern Regional Hospital, in Porto Calvo.
In a statement, the unit reported that Lívia suffered Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and was referred for hospitalization in the red area, intended for severe patients.
The Civil Police of Alagoas opened an investigation to find out the cause of the fall of the coconut tree. The businesswoman’s husband claims that the tree was pruned at the time of the accident.

Livia, who worked in the food and beverage business with her husband in Porto de Pedras. The City Hall issued a note of condolence, lamenting the death of the businesswoman.
“We express our sincerest condolences to his family and friends, wishing them comfort in overcoming this irreparable loss,” the statement said.
