Mbappé notifies PSG for debtReproduction/Twitter

Kylian Mbappé’s departure from PSG has been turbulent. The player, who has already been announced as new signing of Real Madrid, has notified the Parisian club of a real fortune that he still has to receive. In all, the amount charged by the attacker exceeds half a billion reais.

This amount corresponds to the delay of two months of wages and some bonuses that should have been paid, such as the ‘extra’ for Mbappe not having left the team in 2022. In all, the amount exceeds 100 million euros (R$ 581 million at the current exchange rate). The information is from the French newspaper ‘L’Equipe’.

Annually, Mbappe received around €72 million net per year as a salary at PSG. With this, the amount that corresponds to the two months of delay circulates around 12 million euros, or R$ 70 million.

The player’s notification to PSG was sent by the Professional Football League (LFP). One of the obstacles in this negotiation, which should go to the French courts, is regarding the loyalty bonus. When Mbappe was sidelined from the rest of the squad at the start of last season, the Frenchman verbally agreed with the club to forfeit €55 million gross of this bonus.

However, this agreement was never put on paper and today Mbappé charges what his contract says, which is equivalent to this amount of more than half a billion reais. The LFP has given PSG until June 30 to pay the Frenchman the full amount.

PSG told the French newspaper that negotiations are continuing and as no party seems to give in on the agreement, the club and the former striker must meet in court to resolve the pending issues.
