Argentina will take the field against Peru this Saturday (29), at 21 pm (Brasília time), for the 3rd round of the Copa America, with a large absence. Coach Lionel Scaloni is suspended for the match due to a peculiar incident.

CONMEBOL announced on Friday that Scaloni arrived late for the second half of the game against Chile, resulting in a one-match suspension. The decision was based on articles 145 of the competition regulations and 27 of the entity’s disciplinary code.

In addition to the suspension, the Argentine federation was fined $15,000 (about R$83,000), with no possibility of appeal.

With two wins in two games, Argentina is already guaranteed a place in the quarterfinals of the Copa America, which led Scaloni to plan to save a good part of the starting lineup against Peru.
