Midfielder Jude Bellingham  was suspended for one game due to the obscene gesture he made during the celebration of the goal that took the match against Slovakia to extra time. However, the athlete is not missing for England in the quarterfinals of the European Championship.

The penalty imposed by the entity “is not immediately executed and is subject to a probationary period” of one year. The number 10 also received a fine in the amount of 30 thousand euros (R$ 178 thousand). What happened? During the celebration of the bicycle kick goal in the round of 16 of the Euro, Bellingham brought his hand towards his groin and moved it back and forth, towards the bench. Which raised rumors of a possible disrespect to opponents.

Through social networks, the 21-year-old player explained the gesture, and said that it was not disrespectful.

“An inside joke gesture to some close friends who were at the game. Nothing but respect for the way the Slovakia team played tonight,” he said.
