This Sunday may be the hottest day in winter in at least 13 capitals. According to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), some cities are expected to have a maximum of 30ºC. The South and Southeast regions are left out, with maximums around 20°C.

  • Belo Horizonte: minimum of 13°C and maximum of 26°C. 
  • Boa Vista: minimum of 24°C and maximum of 33°C. 
  • Brasília: minimum of 11°C and maximum of 25°C. 
  • Campo Grande: minimum of 19°C and maximum of 33°C. 
  • Cuiabá: minimum of 19°C and maximum of 36°C. 
  • Curitiba: minimum of 8°C and maximum of 21°C.
  • Florianópolis: minimum of 12°C and maximum of 21°C. 
  • Fortaleza: minimum of 23°C and maximum of 30°C. 
  • Goiânia: minimum of 13°C and maximum of 30°C. 
  • João Pessoa: minimum of 22°C and maximum of 29°C. 
  • Macapá: minimum of 24°C and maximum of 34°C. 
  • Maceió: minimum of 20°C and maximum of 27°C. 
  • Manaus: minimum of 25°C and maximum of 33°C. 
  • Natal: minimum of 21°C and maximum of 29°C. 
  • Palmas: minimum of 20°C and maximum of 34°C. 
  • Porto Alegre: minimum of 11°C and maximum of 21°C. 
  • Porto Velho: minimum of 20°C and maximum of 36°C. 
  • Recife: minimum of 23°C and maximum of 28°C. 
  • Rio Branco:  minimum of 16°C and maximum of 32°C. 
  • Rio de Janeiro: minimum of 16°C and maximum of 26°C. 
  • Salvador: minimum of 19°C and maximum of 27°C. 
  • São Luís: minimum of 24°C and maximum of 31°C. 
  • São Paulo: minimum of 12°C and maximum of 24°C. 
  • Teresina: minimum of 21°C and maximum of 33°C. 
  • Vitória: minimum of 19°C and maximum of 25°C. 

According to Inmet, there is a risk of rain accumulation in the following areas: Metropolitan Region of Recife, Mata Pernambucana, East Alagoano, Agreste Pernambucano and Agreste Alagoano. In the north of the country, there is a forecast of intense rainfall, with values between 20 mm/h and 30 mm/h, which can reach up to 50 mm/day, accompanied by strong winds ranging from 40 to 60 km/h, for the North of Roraima, North Amazonense and South of Roraima.

The agency also issued a warning of “potential danger” for windstorms, valid from 3 pm on Monday (22). Winds can reach speeds between 40 km/h and 60 km/h, with a low risk of falling tree branches. The highlight goes to the entire state of Rio Grande do Norte and Paraíba, which are under alert.

Inmet says that the areas affected by a windstorm are: South Cearense, Center-South Bahia, São Franciscano Valley of Bahia, North Cearense, Central Potiguar, Southeast Piauiense, Sertões Cearenses, West Potiguar, Sertão Pernambucano, São Francisco Pernambucano, Sertão Paraibano, Center-North Piauiense, Agreste Paraibano, Borborema, Mata Paraibana, Mata Pernambucana, Jaguaribe, Southwest Piauiense, Center-North Bahia, Far West Bahia, Center-South Cearense, Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza, East Potiguar, Agreste Potiguar, North Piauiense, Agreste Pernambucano, Northwest Cearense, Metropolitan Region of Recife and East of Tocantins.
