Coach Carlos Moya, of champion Rafael Nadal, has left tennis and Olympic fans even more worried. The coach said that the Spaniard could be left out of the Paris 2024 edition.

It all started when Nadal canceled the two training sessions he was going to do today, at Roland Garros, in preparation for the Olympic tournament. Concern about the athlete’s  condition increased after he was seen with a bandage on his right thigh.

“I can’t guarantee that he (Nadal) will play in the Olympics. Today it was decided to give him more time to rest and recover from the setback that occurred yesterday. Let’s see if he can be ready tomorrow. The most responsible thing at this time with an event of this magnitude is not to force it,” Moya said.

If confirmed in the edition, Nadal will face the Hungarian Marton Fucsovics in the first round, while in doubles, alongside Carlos Alcaraz, the duel will be against the Argentines Maximiliano González and Andrés Molteni.

At 38 years old, the Olympic Games may mark the last official competition of one of the biggest names in world sport. And if he makes his debut, Rafael Nadal could cross paths with one of his biggest rivals, Serbian Novak Djokovic.
