 Details of the opening ceremony

The opening ceremony of the  Paris 2024 Olympic Games began this Friday (26), promptly at 7:30 pm (2:30 pm Brasília time). In an unprecedented format in the history of the Olympics, the delegations “paraded” across the Seine River, leaving the Austerlitz Bridge and arriving at the Pont d’Iéna.

After the athletes and their commissions have passed through a 6 km course until the opening formalities begin, including the arrival of the Olympic torch, they will take place at the Trocadero, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.

At the Trocadero, Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams and legends of French sport carried the torch to the Louvre Museum, where the Olympic cauldron was located. Those responsible for lighting the cauldron were Marie Perec and Teddy Riner, legends of athletics and judo, respectively.
