The Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (Cenipa) informed, on Sunday morning (11), that 100% of the information from the black boxes of the Voepass plane was extracted – the aircraft crashed in Vinhedo (SP) and left 62 dead.
In a statement, Brigadier Marcelo Moreno, head of Cenipa, reinforced that there was no call for help during the crash. “There was no emergency declaration at any time to the air traffic control agencies,” he said.
“There are two black boxes and this morning we have the information that we have achieved 100% success in obtaining the voice information and data information that corresponds to the moments leading up to this tragic event for society. This does not mean that the work of extracting data from flight recorders is finished,” he added.
Also according to Moreno, investigators should arrive in Brasilia in the coming days to begin the work of transforming all the data obtained into “useful information for society.” The head of Cenipa did not give a deadline for the conclusion of the investigation.
Next step
Moreno also advanced the next steps of the investigation. The head of Cenipa said that the plane’s engines will be separated for analysis.
“The engines will be segregated with subsequent analysis to issue a report to find out whether or not the engines were developing power at the time of impact,” he said.
Cenipa expects to present a preliminary report with the data obtained at a press conference.
