Two prisoners tried to escape from the prison of Itaitinga, metropolitan region of Fortaleza, dressed as women on Sunday, 11.
According to SBT, the duo is part of a criminal faction and used, in addition to women’s clothes, wigs to pass themselves off as women.
Carlos Antônio da Silva Oliveira and Francisco Átila da Silva planned to flee on the day of the visit. They imagined that, this way, it would be easier to camouflage themselves among people and go unnoticed. Even so, the prison guard noticed and took the two back to the cell.
The Civil Police cannot say if they had the clothes or if they were taken by visitors, or if they received help in the escape attempt. The Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration Resocialization guaranteed that both will answer for the action.
