A 54-year-old driver was arrested in flagrante delicto after losing control of the car and running over a couple who were crossing Avenida Engenheiro Armando de Arruda Pereira, in Jabaquara, South Zone of São Paulo, with his three children. The information is from g1.
The accident occurred around 3 pm on Saturday (17), as reported by the police. Security cameras recorded the instant when the couple, aged 35 and 34, were hit by the vehicle while crossing the avenue at the crosswalk with their young children.
The man, the woman and two of the children were rescued and sent to the Saboya Hospital, while the couple’s third daughter, 9 years old, was not hit by the car. The health conditions of the victims were not disclosed.
After being run over, the driver, who showed signs of drunkenness, was trapped in the vehicle’s hardware and was taken to the Ipiranga Hospital, where he remained hospitalized.
According to the police, the case was registered at the 26th DP (Sacomã) as drunk driving, being run over, collision and culpable bodily injury while driving a motor vehicle. Forensic examinations were requested from the Criminalistics Institute (IC) and the Forensic Medical Institute (IML).
