Brazilian Aline Fernanda de Siqueira Maschietto, accused of attempted murder in Ribeirão Preto (SP) since October 2022, confessed that she stabbed A man she met through a dating app, but denied that the motivation was jealousy.
She was extradited from Spain and has been imprisoned in the Sant’Ana Women’s Penitentiary, in São Paulo, since June. In Spain, the Brazilian was noticed by the international press when she denounced a lawyer, son of the president of the Constitutional Court of Spain, for rape. She dropped the charges days later.
In Brazil, she had been wanted for attempted murder since October 2022, when she was accused of stabbing a man three times. She confessed to the crime in an interview with Record.
“Because I would be jealous of a person I only had a sexual relationship with. That was nothing to me. He slapped me in the face. He went to the kitchen and I went after him. Because he went straight to the cutlery. I already knew that from there I wouldn’t get out of that alive,” said Aline.
According to the Civil Police, at the time, the victim was found with injuries inside the bedroom of a flat on Avenida Presidente Kennedy, in Ribeirão Preto, after an employee heard his screams asking them to break down the door because ‘she is going to kill me’. The man was hospitalized and survived.
“And after he stabbed my leg, I grabbed another knife which was a bread knife. And my eyes clouded. I went up to him and stabbed him five times. If I wanted to kill him, I would have stabbed him 20 times because there would be no one there at the time to help,” added Aline.
At the time, Aline reported to the police that she had just returned from Mexico and, therefore, arranged a meeting with the man at the flat. She says that they started an argument because he had called another woman to be with him.
Aline says that the man threatened her with a knife during the argument, and that she was defending herself from his attacks, when the employee broke down the bedroom door and separated the couple. She also stated that the man had thrown the keys to the flat out of the window.
