Lionel Messi signed his first (informal) contract with Barcelona on a napkin in a Spanish restaurant. This piece of paper that helped Barça to sign the Argentine, will be auctioned for R$ 1.9 million on May 8 and 17, on the ‘Bonhams’ website .

See below a photo gallery of Lionel Messi: The

person who wrote the text written on the napkin was Carles Rexach, who at the time was Barcelona’s sporting director. In addition to Carles and Messi, Horacio Gaggioli, the manager who took the Argentine boy to make the sieve at Barcelona, also signed the ‘document’.

“In Barcelona, on December 14, 2000 and in the presence of Mr. Minguella and Mr. Horacio, Mr. Carles Rexach, technical secretary of FC Barcelona, undertook under his own responsibility and despite some opinions to the contrary. to sign the player Lionel Messi, as long as we keep the agreed values,” read the text on the napkin, which was written in September 2000.

The announcement of the auction of the item goes like this: “It was an unorthodox way to confirm interest in one of the world’s most promising young players, but Messi’s recruitment was not without obstacles – his height was an issue, The amount of money to be spent on a 13-year-old player was another.”

Today, Lionel Messi is the great idol in the history of Barcelona, but he plays for Inter Miami, a team in the United States. The number 10 left the Spanish team after a disagreement over his salary, preventing his new contract from being registered in time and leaving Messi ‘free’ on the market.
