The legendary Lotus 98T, driven by Ayrton Senna in the 1986 Formula 1 season, can now be found inside watches. This is the novelty of the company REC Watches.
The Danish brand, which manufactures watches made from iconic vehicles, launched the 98T/4, a piece made with reforged aluminum taken from the Brazilian driver’s Lotus 98T .
Production is limited to 989 pieces, and incorporates recycled components from iconic vehicles into the case, dial and bezel of the watch.
The top glass is made of sapphire crystal, the strap is leather and is water-resistant up to 100 meters. The company uses parts that are scrapped when the vehicle undergoes restoration, not damaging the cars.
