Large fire destroyed 80% of a shopping mall in PolandReproduction/social

networks A a large fire destroyed one of the main shopping malls in Warsaw, in the Poland, this Sunday (12). In images circulating on social media, flames can be seen spreading through the building and the Polish capital being covered in smoke. So far, there are no reports of fatalities. Watch the end of the article. 

The tragedy happened in the district of Bialoleka. According to local media, 80 percent of the complex, which has 1,400 shops, was engulfed in flames. Local authorities were impressed by the speed of the fire’s spread. 

According to the Fire Department, there is suspicion that the fire was set intentionally. The investigations, however, are still preliminary.

“Such a rapid spread of fire is an unusual situation. The fire spread quickly perhaps due to the flammable materials accumulated inside, especially textiles. We still don’t know what caused the fire. Experts will determine this,” the fire brigade spokesman told local media.

Due to the smoke, local authorities asked residents to close all windows.
