MMA fighter Geane Herrera died at the age of 33. The American’s death was confirmed by the athlete’s family, who had stints in the UFC and also in BKFC (boxing without gloves).

“Our family is devastated by the tragic loss of our beloved Geane Carlos Herrera, known in the professional wrestling world as “La Pulga,” whose life was cut short at the age of 33. Geane leaves behind a 16-year-old son, his 3-month pregnant girlfriend, mother, father, sisters, a brother and a family that loves him and will miss him dearly,” the fighter’s family wrote.

According to information from the website “MMA Fighting”, Geane Herrera died as a result of a motorcycle accident that occurred in Florida, in the United States.

The athlete’s trajectory in the UFC was relatively short. A flyweight, he debuted in 2015 at the organization’s events, in a duel against Ray Borg, and ended up losing. He then beat Joby Sanchez and turned things around. However, soon after came two other losses, which decreed the end of his time in the UFC, in 2016.

Years later, Herrera joined BKFC. Between 2021 and 2022, the athlete had two fights, having accumulated a victory against Abdiel Velazquez and a setback against Reginald Barnett Junior.

Through social networks, the BKFC made a publication to honor the athlete, with the photo of the fighter and the following phrase: “In memory of Geane Herrera” (see below).
