In recent weeks, the new case of blackmail against Michael Schumacher’s family has been gaining intriguing details. According to the German newspaper Bild on Wednesday, the blackmailers held about 1,500 private files of the former driver.

The publication details that the family’s former security guard, Markus F., who was arrested last week, took several pieces of data with him when he left office, around the year 2021.

Photos, videos, lists of medications and contents of Schumacher’s medical record would be among the almost 500 images and 1,000 files divided into two discs Rigid.

Also according to the newspaper, Markus F. would be the person behind the blackmail. Motivated by the high debts of his consulting company, he hired security guard Yilmaz T. to carry out the extortion that asked for 15 million from the former driver’s family.

When the security guard hired by Markus was exposed and arrested along with his son, he testified and gave the name of the security expert, revealing that he had received the blackmail files from him. Both remain in custody.

After two weeks in custody, Daniel, the son of the security guard hired by Markus, was released from prison on bail. He will continue to be investigated, but he is no longer the focus of the authorities.

“After the advanced investigations, we are currently assuming that the accused son may have acted more as an accomplice,” prosecutor Wolf-Tilman Baumert, a spokesman for the Wuppertal prosecutor’s office, told Bild.

Since Schumacher’s tragic accident in 2013, the family of the legendary seven-time Formula 1 world champion has faced a series of extortion attempts.
