Two commercial planes collided on the runway of Congonhas Airport, in São Paulo, in the late afternoon of Monday (29). The accident occurred around 5 pm, in the taxiway, with a Gol Boeing 737 and a Latam Airbus A319.
At least two flights were canceled after the collision.
The Gol plane was still at the gate, with passengers on board and preparing to take off for Florianópolis. It was then that the Latam plane landed, coming from Rio de Janeiro, and headed to park at the intended gate when one of the wings hit the tail of the Boeing and made a tear in the 737.
After the crash, the two aircraft went for maintenance, according to the airlines. Also, the passengers disembarked safely.
GOL passengers were relocated to other aircraft and Latam had to cancel flights LA3064 (São Paulo Congonhas – Curitiba) and LA3069 (Curitiba – São Paulo Congonhas).
