Matías Rojas is leaving Corinthians, says journalistReproduction/X

Matías Rojas is leaving Corinthians after less than a year with the team. The Paraguayan midfielder made the decision because of delays by the board in making payments that should have been made. The information comes from journalist Benjamin Back.

“I know you don’t like to hear bad news, because everything I say, the guys say: ‘Oh, they’re boycotting’… Rojas has just left Corinthians, he’s no longer a player, he’s packed his bags and left…. And then they’ll say something, but it’s because they didn’t pay him what they were supposed to. So Rojas is no longer a Corinthians player,” said Benja on his social networks.

This is not the first time that the Paraguayan midfielder has had his name involved in financial ‘controversies’ with Corinthians. As soon as Augusto Melo took over as president of the club, he claimed that Rojas had received everything that was overdue.

Before that episode, Rojas had threatened to go to Fifa to receive some payments that were overdue, such as gloves, bonuses and salaries. The midfielder even considered breaking his contract with Timão.

Augusto even used the phrase ‘It was that case of “pretend to pay, and I’ll pretend to play”. But now everything is all right’, to define the situation. However, things seem to have gotten complicated again between the parties.

Since arriving from Racing with high expectations in the middle of last year, Rojas has been unable to establish himself in the team, regardless of who the coach in charge was.
