Liverpool took no notice of Sparta Prague and, even away from home, won 4-1 in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16 on Thursday (7). Coach Jurgen Klopp opted to field an alternative team in the Czech Republic and progressed to the quarter-finals. Mac Allister, Darwin Nuñez, twice, Luis DÃaz and Szoboszlai scored the Reds’ goals. On the other hand, Bradley scored an own goal for the hosts. The teams meet again on March 17, with the English side having a big advantage.

Liverpool came back from the break with a change in the team and, in Bradley’s first appearance of the game, the right-back got it wrong after a low cross from Sparta Prague and sent it against his own goal. Despite conceding, Liverpool didn’t let up and turned the win into a rout when Luis DÃaz finished into the back of the net. The pace of the game slowed down in the final stages, but the Reds added a fifth through Szoboszlai and wrapped up the 5-1 win.
