Cristiano Ronaldo was offered to a French club for R$ 5 million, but the manager refused

Former manager of SC Bastia, France, Jo Bonavita revealed that the club had the chance to sign Cristiano Ronaldo for a small fee, but turned down the offer.

The details of the situation were detailed by him in the book “Legends of Bastia”, check it out:

“I was told that the 16-year-old boy had talent and that he would like to play in the French first division. The club wanted 800 thousand euros (approximately R$ 5 million). I spoke with the directors and the coach, Gérard Gili. But we turned down the offer.”

The manager also says that the team turned down another name that would become one of the greats of world football: Franck Ribery.

Revealed by Sporting, Cristiano Ronaldo left the team in 2003, when he headed to Manchester United. After emerging at the Red Devils as one of the best in the world, the star became an idol at Real Madrid, went through Juventus and currently defends Al-Nassr, from Saudi Arabia.
