Learn more about the anaconda

The anaconda is a very common snake in Brazil. They are semi-aquatic and live in freshwater and edges. Because of this, their nostrils and eyes are more towards the top of the head than normal in terrestrial snakes.

Anaconda snakes are known for their size and strength. They are not venomous, that is, they do not have venom. However, it compensates for its strength: when it captures its prey, it wraps itself around them and squeezes for immobilization.

The anaconda is carnivorous, and although it constantly lives near civilizations and is large enough, it does not usually eat people.
