An app driver ran over a passenger after an argument in the city of Uberlândia, in Minas Gerais, this Saturday (29). The image of the hit-and-run was recorded by security cameras. See at the end of this article

According to the police report, two couples were returning from a party when they asked for a ride through an app. According to the document, the argument began when the driver asked the passengers to dispose of the drinks before getting into the car. 

According to the wife of the man who was run over, During the journey, the driver drove at high speed, which angered the four passengers. “On the way, on Landscape Avenue, the driver started to go at high speed and my husband complained to him about speeding and he [driver] said that he was not obliged to smell cachaça and that if he had not satisfied the ride he would end right there,” said the wife and passenger,” he told TV Integração .

In the footage, it is possible to see that the victim crashed the car hard and continued arguing with the driver. The driver then reversed and accelerated towards the passenger. 

The man who was run over was taken to a health unit by the Fire Department, being transferred to a private hospital in Uberlândia afterwards. He fractured a rib. 

The driver was identified, detained by the Military Police and will answer for attempted murder. In his defense, the driver claims to have felt threatened by the passenger.
