Plane makes emergency landing after pilot window bursts in SpainReproduction

A plane heading from Spain to Colombia had to make an emergency landing 20 minutes after takeoff, because the pilot’s window blew out. The case happened this Sunday (7).

In the middle of the journey, the pilot’s window broke, which reduced the team’s visibility. To ensure the safety of the 232 passengers, the pilot chose to return to Madrid airport.

According to the newspaper El Tiempo, the accident caused panic among passengers, who had to stay in the fetal position to prioritize safety.

It is not yet known what caused the incident, but the suspicion is that a bird crashed into the window.

According to official information from Avianca, flight AV017 landed safely and with the 232 passengers unharmed. Also according to the company, all received assistance and were reallocated to other flights.
