Security cameras caught the moment when jiu-jitsu fighter Lucas Amorim Magalhães, 39, threatens unknown people on the street after killing a 91-year-old man and leaving three injured in a condominium in the neighborhood Farias Brito, in Fortaleza, on Friday (5).

Understand the images
In the images, the suspect is seen walking with a coconut punch in his hand. According to the investigation, the object was used in the attacks.
Initially, he approaches a man who was on the sidewalk. He even grabs the pedestrian’s neck and demonstrates that he will strike him with the awl. The victim of the attacks manages to escape.
Another angle shows the fighter walking towards a pickup truck that was parked. It is possible to see that he says something to the person inside the vehicle. The driver leaves the street in reverse and the fighter returns.
Lucas still went to Avenida Bezerra de Menezes, where he was approached by military police. He tried to attack one of the agents and was shot in the leg. He is awaiting surgery while hospitalized under police escort.
The suspect already had police records for the crimes of threat and criminal misdemeanor. Last week, he was arrested in flagrante for the crimes of homicide and attempted murder.
What the defense says
The defense claims that the fighter suffered an Incident of Mental Insanity, stating that he was in a “psychotic break of persecution”.
“Since the acts were practiced in a psychotic moment of persecution, not having the ability to understand his acts or the reasons why he practiced them. [He] He is currently undergoing treatment, and his family deeply regrets what happened and the pain caused to the affected people and their families,” said the defense note.
