Police officer Tiago White was killed during his birthday party. The date also commemorated his approval in a Military Police course, in Uruaçu, north of Goiânia. According to the Civil Police, the soldier’s brother admitted to having used the military’s gun to shoot him. The crime happened last Thursday (11).
The suspect’s defense stated that he requested a habeas corpus after his client’s arrest was upheld by the courts. The lawyer also said that his client is emotionally shaken and physically injured because of the fight with his brother.
“It was a tragedy after a family party. However, it does not reflect the personality and behavior of the accused. He had in his brother the security of a father figure. They were very connected,” detailed lawyer Martiniano Neto.
Police chief Sandro Costa clarified that the brothers were reunited with the family when disagreements arose. During the argument, the police officer began to assault his brother. The camera reveals that, after being assaulted, Tiago’s brother retreated into the house, where he took the gun and returned outside, shooting at the soldier. The police officer tried to protect himself by running and jumping into the pool, but was still hit by the shots.
In his report to the military police, Tiago’s brother admitted to having used the soldier’s official weapon, which was stored in his own room, to shoot him.
The fight
The chief also said that the brothers always got along, but ended up fighting during the party.
“I did not understand that there was a futile motive, since after the initial argument, the victim severely assaulted the perpetrator, which is the real motive,” explained the chief. During the fight, the suspect was unconscious and staggered for a few minutes. After regaining consciousness, he went to the bedroom to get the soldier’s gun, which was stored, according to the police.
