By announcing that he will not run for reelection in the United States, President Joe Biden has already made clear his support for Vice President Kamala Harris to take his seat as the Democratic Party candidate. The current president’s “campaign” took place via social media this Sunday (21).

In Biden’s understanding, his vice president is the best option to defeat Donald Trump, who was made official as the candidate for the US presidency at last week’s Republican Convention.

“My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and focus all my energies on my duties as President for the rest of my term. My first decision as the party’s candidate in 2020 was to choose Kamala Harris as my vice president,” wrote Biden, who posted a photo next to the ally.

“And it was the best decision I made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be our party’s nominee this year. Democrats – it’s time to unite and defeat Trump. Let’s do it,” added the current US president.
