The Al-Hilal squad can gain a strong reinforcement for the defensive sector in this transfer window. According to ‘The Guardian’, full-back João Cancelo has become a target for the Saudi team.

The publication explains that, with Abdulhamid’s possible departure for Europe, the name of the Portuguese player gains strength to be the “luxury reinforcement” to replace him at right-back.

Kyle Walker and Trent Alexander-Arnold are names that would also please the Saudi club, however, City are not negotiating the number 2 and Trent has not expressed any interest in playing in the Saudi Pro League. On the other hand, Cancelo has a complicated situation in England and could leave the club.

Training at Manchester City after the end of his loan to Barcelona, the full-back still has an undefined future at the English club. In a press conference last Friday (16), coach Pep Guardiola left open the possibility of reinstating him to the team.

Numbers

In four years at Manchester City, Cancelo played in 154 matches, scored nine goals and provided 22 assists. The athlete won five titles with the Cityzens, the Premier League (2x), the English League Cup (2x) and the FA Super Cup.
