The Civil Police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Rio de Janeiro are carrying out an operation this Thursday (07) to try to arrest bicheiro Bernardo Bello. Among the search warrants is the “Glass House”, a property that was rented to Erick Pulgar, from Flamengo, on condition of monthly payment in kind. The player is not under investigation in the operation.

According to G1, the ‘Glass House’ is rented to Erick Pulgar under a notarized contract. The tenant, Tamara Garcia, Bernardo Bello’s ex-wife, allegedly demanded that the player pay R$70,000 a month in cash for the property.

In addition, the Civil Police and the Rio de Janeiro Public Prosecutor’s Office want to know why the rent was required to be paid in cash. Tamara’s name is listed in the General Real Estate Registry and there is no requirement in the rental contract, signed by her, for payment to be made in cash. The player’s team was aware of the origin of the property, but saw no impediment to renting it out.

Bernardo Bello is being investigated for criminal organization and money laundering and is also being investigated for killings in Rio de Janeiro. There are already five outstanding arrest warrants against Bello.

While the courts continue to investigate the situation, Pulgar is preparing for the semi-final against Fluminense, in the first leg of the Carioca Championship semi-final. The ball rolls at the Maracanã from 9pm (Brasília time) next Saturday (09).
