Currently working as a businessman, former Spanish defender Gerard Piqué announced on Thursday (7) that Brazilians Neymar and Falcao, a futsal legend, will be the stars of the 7-a-side soccer tournament he organizes, the Kings League, in Spain. The competition features several famous former players and the two will represent the Furia FC team. However, because he is injured, Neymar would only be involved as a supporter of the project.

Falcão’s presence on the pitch, however, is confirmed. As is that of streamer Allan ‘The Trainee’. They will join other soccer figures at an event that will take place in Mexico between the end of May and the beginning of June. There will be 32 teams involved and the champion will take home one million dollars.

The competition, which has unusual rules and, according to Piqué himself, ‘looks like a video game’, is already a fever in Spain. The brand intends to extend its tentacles to Brazil too, where it is due to open a National League in 2025. Currently, in addition to Spain, there is already a Kings League competition involving teams from Latin America. The same already happens in the Kings League America, only for teams from the United States.

Among the stars who have attended Kings League matches is former Spanish goalkeeper Casillas. As well as him, there have been Brazilian Ronaldinho Gaúcho and Argentinian Sergio Aguero, who recently retired from professional soccer.
